Every so often, I get a hankering for a burger.  Now though, it tends to be without the bun.  This recipe is a chicken version using the same technique for making meatballs – just bigger!

Chicken Burgers

Servings 4 serves

Ingredients
  

  • 6 mushrooms halved
  • ½ red onion peeled and quartered
  • 1 clove garlic peeled
  • 600 g chicken breast cut into 3cm pieces
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to season
  • Light olive oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Chop onion and garlic in the Thermomix for 3 seconds | Speed 5
  • Chop mushrooms in the Thermomix for 8 seconds | Speed 3
  • Scrape down the sides of the Thermomix bowl, add chicken breast, parsley, salt and pepper to the bowl and mince by closing the lid, with the measuring cup (MC) on, and holding Turbo for 1 second; repeat 3 times
  • Divide the mixture into 6 and form into about 2cm high burger patties
  • Put burgers in the Varoma bowl and tray
  • Put 500g water into the Thermomix bowl, close the lid, assemble the Varoma on top and cook for 20 minutes | Varoma | Speed 2
  • Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat, add burgers and fry until browned on each side
