Quinoa Porridge with Apples and Cinnamon

I’ve never tried a quinoa porridge before so I thought I’d give it a go.  I had a bit of a look around to see what was out there.  This recipe is based on one I found in the Thermomix Recipe Community plus a recipe from the blog the Holistic Ingredient.

Serves 1-2

Apple Cinnamon Quinoa PorridgeIngredients

1 apple, quartered and de-seeded

80g quinoa, washed

90g water

55g reduced fat milk

1 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnanmon

Honey, to taste (optional)

Instructions

1. Put the apple in the Thermomix bowl and chop for 3 seconds/Speed 5

2. Scrap down the sides of the bowl with the spatula, add quinoa, water, milk, salt and cinnamon and cook with the measuring cup (MC) half off for 15 minutes/100C/Reverse/Speed 2 until the liquid is absorbed and quinoa is opaque

3. Top with honey to serve
